Toy Story Birthday Party! Two-Infinity and Beyond!

For our son’s third birthday, we went with a Toy Story Birthday Party, a Two-Infinity and Beyond party! Keep scrolling to explore our Toy Story-themed decorations, dessert table, and fun activities!

My favorite decorations to make were the crayons and the wooden block tower. The goal was to make them large and give the illusion that we were all toy-sized, just like in Andy’s room. This 10×20 tent is our favorite to use! This double-wide tent comes out for many of our parties!

These oversized crayons were fun and easy to make. Just a few materials to accomplish these crayons.

Materials needed:

• Mailing Tubes
• Paint (I used spray paint)
• Card Stock
• Hot glue

To assemble these crayons:

First: Spray paint the mailing tubes in any color you choose. I chose to do red, green, and yellow.

Second: I cut the crayon bands out of black card stock, as well as the crayon letters and oval, I used my Cricut machine.

Third: Roll card stock into a cone, adjusting the width so that it fits on top of the mailing tube.

Fourth: Hot glue the crayon tip and black cardstock pieces to the mailing tube.

Ta Da!! Over-sized crayons that make a perfect decoration!

The wooden blocks were easy to make! Just 3 materials needed:

• Cardboard boxes (square)
• Spray Paint
• Cardstock

Using my Cricut machine, I made stencils out of card stock. Each side had something different on it. Each of the other sides had the silhouette of a different Toy Story character. To achieve the border on the edge of the box, make sure to cut the stencil smaller.

Next we will talk about the activities we had set up for the kids.

We had Sarge’s obstacle course, Jessie’s shooting game, pin the tail on Bullseye, a bubble station, bowling for aliens, and a piñata.

The claw machine is such a main centerpiece in Toy Story that I just had to figure out how to bring that element to the party! Check out my post about how I made this claw machine! The favor bags were perfect for the aliens to make their debut!

Jessie’s shooting game was a big hit! This craft didn’t take many supplies and was fairly easy to assemble. Let’s get into what it took to craft this game

Materials needed:

• Corrugated Tri-Fold Display Board, 36″ x 48″ (Find in Michaels here)
• Foam board
• Paint
• Picture printed on cardstock and cut out
• 3 Paper towel rolls

The balls and plastic cans are from a carnival game I found in Party City. We had two Nerf guns, and hundreds of Nerf darts set up, and people could shoot the targets, the balls off the poles (paper towel holders hot glued to the bottom), or set up the cans to knock over. This game was a huge hit! It got competitive at times.

Kids love bubbles! I set up a small tent and put a sign inside saying “Sunnyside Daycare”. Here is where we had our bubble station. A fun idea is to get a large drink container with a spout and fill it with bubble solution. Put cups and bubble wands on the table, that way kids can refill their solution easily.

Let’s talk food! Pizza Planet took over our dining room! The alien balloons, Pizza Planet signs and the claw machine set the tone for the food area.

For the lunch menu, we ordered six pizzas and two 6ft sandwiches. Pasta salad, tossed salad, and chicken strips were some of the other sides we had on the table as well.

The dessert table is where we like to get creative. Below are all the Toy Story Birthday Party treats my mom and I made.

Alien Cupcakes! Vanilla cupcakes with green buttercream piped high on top, and three candy eyes complete the look! Make sure to use neon green food coloring for the perfect shade. Michaels is a great store to get the candy eyes and neon green food coloring. Click here to find them.

Woody’s cowboy hat pops! These adorable treats were made using:

• Marshmallows
• Pringles chips
• Chocolate
• Lollipop sticks

Melt the chocolate down. Take a marshmallow and dab some melted chocolate on it to act like glue. Place the marshmallow on the Pringle, make sure put the marshmallow on the correct side of the chip to get the hat look. Put the lollipop stick in the marshmallow and coat the whole hat in chocolate. Once dry, take dark chocolate melted down and pipe the seams onto the brim and middle of the hat.

Jessie hat cookies! These are made from a simple shortbread recipe with red food coloring. Once the cookies were baked and cooled piped royal white icing to look like the stitching and add a red gum drop to create the top of the hat.

Forky cupcakes! To make the Forky toppers, we used plastic sporks, googly eyes, and red piper cleaners. These were an adorable addition to the display!

Next up is my famous cake pops! My cake pops only make an appearance on my kids’ birthdays, and that makes them very special. These cake pops were my favorite chocolate chip ones, which I coated in yellow candy melts. The star and blue stripe and made from fondant.

Mr. Potato Head fruit platter! He was a lot of fun to make. A cantaloupe made the perfect bowl; just slice it in half and scoop out the meat to make a bowl. I used our Mr. Potato Head pieces to give him his face and legs. Placed in the center of the platter and surrounded by cut fruit.

We have a family friend who is a professional baker, and he made this gorgeous tiered Toy Story Woody cake. He did such a great job! It was the perfect center piece for our Toy Story birthday party!
