Little Mermaid Birthday Party

Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat? Wouldn’t ya think my collection’s complete? Wouldn’t ya think I’m the girl, The girl who has everything? Get inspired by all the great ideas from our Little Mermaid Birthday Party below.

Little Mermaid took center stage this year in our daughter’s eyes, so of course, I dove right into an underwater-themed, Little Mermaid Birthday party! I just love this backdrop, the strips of tinsel make it look like water. These balloons were an amazing touch, and a special thanks to my dad, who put a bunch of these together. They are clear balloons, blown up to different sizes and then tied to clear fishing lines to give the illusion of bubbles floating up!

This is one of my favorite pieces of art I’ve created. I searched all over different antique stores until I found the perfect candelabra! The utensils were right from my kitchen drawer. I used hot glue and E6000 to glue the utensils into place. I spray-painted the whole thing a light blue and then went in with different shades of blue and silver paint and sponge-painted it. All the pearls and sea shells are also hot glued on.

We taped transparent blue material on the windows and hung fish decorations! This was a fun way to make you feel under water.

Some fun activities we had were mermaid names and pirate name! I got the names off of a google search and printed them out. The boards I put them on were decorated to pull the theme in. The mermaid wands were something I spent time crafting for the girls, and there was pirate eye patches for the boys. We had hair chalk to give the girls mermaid hair that was kid friendly! And my cousin was doing facepaint for everyone.

I made a special mermaid wand for my daughter! 5 years later and she still has this wand in her room!

Another activiy and the favor for the party was sand art! I thought it really fit in the theme. I got all the containers and the colored sand from Sandartsupplies.com. They were wonderful and the containers and sand was perfect! I would suggest ordering more sand then you think you need. I wish I had ordered more sand, we started to run out of some colors. But this was a big hit with the kids!
